AJC SUcks
on ajc's blog, it was mentioned by someone that ajc do not suck. It is the student that shape their own environment. Its the students that decide whether or not to make ajc a fun place. Well, weikiat here has something to say.Before you say that we should change the environment, i would like to point out that in ajc, it is highly impossible. With restrictive policies, uncommited teachers, old and un-usable facilities(are the retort stands in the phy labs even useable?), lousy food(i can cook better than them!!) and much much more problem, we can never get much students to love this school. This school has a big problem. It does not actually cares for the welfare of students. Take the recent addition of the security checkpoint for example. What purpose does it actually serve? All we see is that the guard allows all car to enter/leave without any inspection. The cost of building the useless checkpoint could have been better used on providing better welfare and facilites for the student. Instead, our school only knows how to appear to be good or (act sei) in from of the public at the expense of the students. How many of us feel cheated now that we are part of Ajc? Where did all those good facilities, teachers, food that we seemed to be promised about? All gone. The only reason that kept most people happy in ajc is because they come from neigbourhood schools and managed to get into one of the top jcs in singapore. But for those like me, who came from top secondary schools, ajc's standard in everything is much much lower compared to what i had experienced in my secondary school days. How to you expect people to love the school or to be enthu enuff to make changes to the environment? As this blog title already suggest, ajc contains nth but muggers and muggers who simply have no life. They mug and mug and mug and later graduate from universities(provided they made it) discovering that they have no idea what kind of job they are good for and end up driving taxis. This is the problem with muggers. And since ajc is actually muggers united, ajc is doomed.

Food in AJC?
Go Hungry
Food is important, providing us with our daily glucose to sustain our body processes.
So, how tasty is the food in AJC?
That's provided that if you ever can find empty benches and tables to "chop", just because the canteen is simply the same size of primary schools with bigger size people sharing.
Cha Kuey Tiao, Hor Fun and Hokkien Mee store:
it all depends on whether the uncle is in a good mood. mostly, he is not.
Yong Tau Foo:
edible because it's mostly frozen food.
note: the tom yam soup is full of msg
Vegetarian:
healthy diet
Wanton noodles:
chewy gummy noodles
curry chicken rice:
curry that you can never find it anywhere
western food:
watery home-made flour-y potato, or a choice of home-made diluted tomato spaghetti with chicken chop or grilled fish.
guys preferred.
rice and veggies:
blend of china food with different proportions like western food.
guys preferred.
malay rice n veggies:
not that bad.
malay store:
not that bad.
our "cafe":
get a shock out of your life after you visited schools such as hci.
The above are for you to decipher.
tasty or not, you decide.

As quoted on her talk " I know many of you are unhappy to be in this school. But I must tell you that since you are already in this school, you are my student.."
She knew. That must be from past year experiences too.
She also added that many tried to appeal into AJC but there were not enough places to accomodate them. Yet, those that were posted in were unhappy about it.
From what I heard, other schools also accepted around 900 students.
However, the school size is not proportionate to the number of students it takes in.
Thus, there is always a lack of tables in the eating area, causing many unnecessary disappointments among students.
So, why take in so many when you know the school does not have enough space?
She also emphasized on our school vision and mission.

i sulked all my way to school.
the passengers on board of the mrt were too tired to even notice me.
just the previous day, the ogf called to remind me to report before 7.
but i purposely left home only after 7 so that i could reach school at around 7.30, the time for assembly.
the second intakers really got scammed to reach the school that early.
they would probably be as frustrated as i am during the first intake.
i could even hear complains behind me by the new-comers, and i chuckled silently.
there was also a comment "walaoh the school say got fountain, but only one so small like everywhere also can find"
i literally skipped the subject talk and hid in the toilet to play my ds.
i know they could never catch me there. even if they could, i would plainly pass off an excuse of having a bad constipation.
complains could be also heard in the toilet.
"the school is so small and ugly!"
"the chair will squeak one lor!"
"the table and chairs very old leh"
"the uniform grey grey de very disgusting"
i heaved a sigh of relief. i am not the only "weirdo" that really hates aj.

it was only the beginning of a night mare.

PAE
how did it started?
i did not do well in my prelims, with a score of 14.
i decided that since i live quite near, i might as well try ajc.
although the building looks quite worn out,
it's only a matter of a few weeks!
the orientation wasnt planned very well.
to be precise, there are many a times when the new J1s were left alone with their OGs, when people just got acquainted.
the OGLs are having fun THEMSELVES as most of them already know each other for about a year.
okay, that's not the main point.
we were called and reminded to reach the school before 7am to report, but to my amazement, attendance taking only start at 7.40 after the assembly.
40 mins of my precious time wasted just on the first day, first hour in school.
the teaching of the mass dances should be applauded.
the games are, however, designed for sec 1s instead of j1s.
example:
- use a straw to transfer as much water as possible from one end of the human chain to the other end
- 3 persons, each with a straw to pick up a ball from a tray of water.
i asked the ogls: what's the point of playing such games that are not meant for our age?
she replied: oh. build team spirit lor.
how are we going to build this "team spirit" by transfering water and picking up balls?
